We ARE Going

After months and months of waiting for word, we finally learned today that we are in fact going to Poland! Myles has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar position at Gdansk University of Technology in Gdansk, Poland. It is a metro area of about 800,000 people right on the Baltic Sea in far northern Poland.

We found this information out about 2:15 this afternoon. I was running an errand and was talking on my cell phone to my neighbor when Myles beeped in. I had a feeling...and told her I'd call her back. Sure enough this was THE call. We have told the kids and they are excited. We have just started researching the area and it looks absolutely beautiful! This is the extent of the information we have at this point. We have been told to prepare for a deluge of information very shortly!

Passports Have Arrived...

Wow! The kids' passports arrived in the mail today. It only took 10 days. How is it that the State Department can get these done in 10 days and we have been waiting months and months for word on whether or not we are going, specifically where we are going, what we are going to have to do to prepare to go? Oh, well, at least we have the passports now. The kids enjoyed seeing them and I have them locked away safe!
